Future of Water, SingularityU Benelux

Already today, 2/3 of the world population faces water shortages. This means 4 billion people that are affected by the shortage of water. Water is not only the water we feel in our daily lives, our household water only contributes 1% of our water footprint. The remainder is determined by the food we eat, the products we buy and the energy we use. Scarcity of water therefore involves pressure on food, production and often involves tension, migration and the possibility of conflict. By using more water than we receive, our aquifers, rivers and lakes are disappearing; more than half of the world wetlands have already disappeared. Adding climate change to the equation, water to me is the biggest challenge for humanity in the 21st century.

As a water enthusiast and clean-tech specialist, it’s my mission to be part of a sustainable solution for global water scarcity and create awareness on the importance and the role of water in our lives and ecosystems. I believe it's possible to move from scarcity to abundance once we become aware of our footprint and by implementing proven solution with a positive, long-term impact.

Elemental Water Makers ensures fresh water today, without limiting tomorrow. We turn seawater into drinking water using only the sun, wind or waves. This means the opportunity of an affordable & reliable water supply from unlimited resources for resorts, private properties, communities, industries and municipalities on islands and coastal regions. Through the projects we deliver, we make a direct impact on the availability of water, without any greenhouse gas emissions. Join us in solving fresh water scarcity, using only the elements sea, sun, earth & wind.
